Welcome to the SRJC Computer Studies Department

Our course of study offers a diverse community of learners a sound foundation of knowledge and problem-solving skills in computer studies that can lead to valuable career certificates, academic degrees, university transfer, and lifelong learning.

Our outstanding instructors provide the most current courses and programs in Computer Basics, Computer Science & Programming, Data Science, Web Development, Game Development, Office Applications, Graphics & Multimedia, Graphic Design, and Information Technology (IT). Computer Studies is also a Cisco Regional Networking Academy.

We offer day and evening courses in a variety of formats including online, face-to-face, short, and full-semester courses. Our face-to-face courses are held in state-of-the-art facilities at both the Santa Rosa and Petaluma campuses.

By constantly updating our curriculum, Computer Studies remains on the cutting edge of new technologies and industry trends. We help our students keep pace with the changing computing field and attain the skills that are most valued in the workplace.

Open Lab Schedules

Open computer labs are available during regular semester dates on the Santa Rosa and Petaluma campuses.

Online Classes

Online courses are offered in every area of the Computer Studies Department. Most online courses are offered asynchronously, meaning students can sign-on any hour of the day or night when it fits their schedule. Online classes at SRJC are offered using the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Online courses require students to be independent learners who are self motivated.

Classes to Audit

Many Computer Studies courses have been approved for auditing so that students who wish to take a Computer Studies class again may do so. You can audit a course that you have successfully completed if there is room in the section and the instructor approves your participation.
